After a successful career in residential real estate in his hometown of St. Louis, where he built and ran real estate offices, coached and consulted high-performing agents, all for for the nation’s largest franchise, OG Agave moved back to Austin, Texas in 2013 with his wife, three young girls, and a dog in tow.

Realizing he could now grow in the ground, here in ATX, the spiky succulents he loved collecting in pots as a kid, he planted his first agave in the ground and that one has turned into hundreds.

On April 1st of 2016, he decided to launch an Instagram page to share his passion for rare, unique and mind-blowing cactus, agaves and succulents; and on that April Fools Day, OG Agave was born.
Over time he gained a following over 60,000 strong. As it often does with passionate collectors, things got out of control quickly.

The Queen Victoria agave he first planted in the ground has grown into a full fledged business, including a Succulent nursery in Lakeway offering cold-hardy agaves and cactus for the landscape, potted collector plants, as well as a landscape design and install services.
